Vice President of Business Development

The Vice President of Business Development will help develop and nurture consultant/broker relationships and other sources to drive new business sales. This position requires a driven, competitive, and successful individual that can represent Healthgram’s sophisticated self-funded solutions and maintain the company’s high standard in the industry.


This individual will be a key part of an established sales team and will report to Healthgram’s Director of Business Development. The position will be fully remote but will require consistent travel for business development purposes. Total compensation includes a base salary plus commission.


What the Vice President of Business Development will be responsible for:

  • Being the market leader and key Healthgram representative in a desired territory
  • Developing and growing a pipeline of new business opportunities via consultants/brokers, referral sources, and self-funded employers
  • Identifying qualified prospects and key buying decision makers or influencers
  • Regularly following up and maintaining relationships with consultants/brokers and qualified leads via in person and virtual meetings, referral/networking events, telephone, email, and social media
  • Winning new business and growing Healthgram’s market presence
  • Articulating and effectively positioning Healthgram’s unique TPA capabilities, as well as clinic and software solutions
  • Understanding Healthgram’s differentiators and advanced self-funded concepts
  • Engaging with Healthgram leadership and internal teams regarding strategy and needs
  • Providing feedback pertaining to markets, products, competition, and partner relationships
  • Contributing content ideas and market intelligence to sales and marketing teams
  • Documenting all activity, opportunities, and new business forecasting in a timely manner in our CRM.
  • Willingness to travel to Healthgram’s corporate office on a quarterly basis
  • Represent Healthgram’s core values, mission, and vision


What the ideal Business Development Associate will bring:

  • A Bachelor’s degree is required
  • Previous employment in an executive sales or account management role
  • Successful record of accomplishment converting prospects into customers
  • Successful experience working with brokers/consultants
  • Experience in employee benefits (specifically healthcare-related)
  • Well versed in self-funding
  • Understanding of the efforts and dedication required with a longer sales cycle
  • Effective written, oral communication and presentation skills
  • Outstanding relationship and negotiation skills
  • Great interpersonal skills and a proven ability to build rapport with consultants/brokers and C-suite individuals
  • Effective time management, planning, and organizational skills
  • Leadership mindset and self-motivated
  • Desire to compete, work together, and win
