Occupational Health Nurse (Norlina, NC)

Healthgram is a nationally recognized medical management organization with over 40 years of experience headquartered in Charlotte, NC. We currently have an immediate opportunity for the right Occupational Health Nurse to provide part-time care in an on-site health and wellness clinic located in Norlina, NC for 30 hours per week, for our client’s highly valued employees. Our goal is to support the Human Resources department with the onboarding of new hires and provide first aid daily onsite for existing employees. The clinic currently has a full-time Nurse Practitioner onsite that will be provide acute/episodic care and disease management services for employees and their spouses alongside the Occupational Health nurse services.

What the Occupational Health Nurse can expect:

• Perform pre-employment physicals
• Participate in first aid and blood borne pathogen training programs
• Provide nursing care for occupational injury/illness per treatment protocols
• Act as liaison between associate, Worker’s Compensation carrier, and physician to ensure the injured associate is receiving appropriate, timely care.
• Work with plant management on ADA accommodation cases.
• Conduct substance abuse testing for pre-employment, post incident, random, and reasonable suspicion.
• Perform vaccinations, vision and hearing testing and respiratory fit testing
• Assist in completion of the paperwork for associates requesting leave of absence
• Maintain employee medical records using an electronic medical record
• Perform medical review with international travelers
• In conjunction with HR, help ensure the OSHA 300 and 300A are maintained and accurate.
• Complete accident investigation records and accident summaries
• Assist with injuries sustained from an on-site incident, maintain the accident investigation hardcopy reports, follow-up with (possible) injured associate until healed, transport associate to doctor appointments (if off-site medical appointments are necessary)
• Assist with onsite wellness activities as needed.
• Assist with onsite Covid-19 testing and reporting.
• Conduct CPR training classes.

Ideal qualifications of the Occupational Health Nurse:

• RN certification
• Graduation from an accredited program
• Active licensure in NC or eligibility to obtain licensure
• Phlebotomy skills are required
• Experience with drug testing protocols
