Primary PhysicianCare, Inc. (Primary) was founded by Chairman and CEO, David R. Tate, in 1977.  Three decades of delivery have demonstrated a remarkable ability to grow and retain clients.  The creative vision of the executive team has allowed Primary to weather many challenges.  Now the future of Primary looks even brighter as we face healthcare reform. 

Personalized service, accurate delivery, and balanced growth combine to create an exceptional client retention rate.  Now, in addition to loyally serving clients across the Southeast, Primary PhysicianCare, Inc. is steadily expanding its national presence.

 

1977 Engaged in the business of healthcare consultancy.
     1982 Named one of the largest consultancies in the Southeast by Blue Cross and Mutual of Omaha.
     1985 Entered business of third party administration of self-funded health plans.
     1987 Established a proprietary preferred provider network of physicians and hospitals.
     1990 Designed and managed a healthcare plan marketed by Jefferson-Pilot Insurance Co., which grew to be 10% of their market share.
     1995 Contracted to provide a unique pharmacy benefit (PBM) to its clients thru a company now known as Express Scripts.
     1998 Began the exclusive administration and marketing of private label service offerings.
     2000 Launched Healthgram,  a medical management software platform.
     2001 Began offering onsite medical clinics staffed by nurse practitioners.
     2005 Acquired Carolina Wellness Coalition and restructured it to form Wellness Coalition America.
     2010 Launched a fully integrated medical management system.
